Dev Form Faker is a browser extension that helps developers and QA testers fill web forms with realistic fake data. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
What we collect
- Local storage preferences: Your selected locale and M-Pesa phone number are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device unless you use AI mode.
What we do NOT collect
- Personal information
- Browsing history
- Form data you enter on websites
- Passwords or sensitive credentials
AI Mode (Optional)
When you use the optional AI fill feature:
- Page context (URL, title, form field labels) is sent to our API server to generate contextual fake data
- No actual form values or personal data are transmitted
- Requests are not logged or stored beyond processing
M-Pesa Billing (Optional)
If you use M-Pesa payments:
- Your phone number is sent to process the payment via Safaricom's M-Pesa API
- Payment status is stored locally to track transaction completion
- We do not store payment details on our servers beyond transaction processing
Data Storage
All preferences are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local API:
- Selected locale preference
- API configuration
- M-Pesa phone number (if provided)
- Payment session status
Third-Party Services
- OpenAI API: Used for AI-powered form filling (optional feature)
- Safaricom M-Pesa: Used for payment processing (optional feature)
Your Rights
You can clear all stored data by:
- Right-clicking the extension icon
- Selecting "Remove from Chrome"
- Or clearing extension data in Chrome settings
